Bucharest Grill and Park Bar

The Bucharest Grill and Park Bar are a pair of harmonious roommates, sharing a lovely ground floor residence located at 2040 Park Ave.  Step up to the Bucharest Grill counter to order your food then take a seat in Park Bar, order a beer and wait for your meal to be served.

Bucharest Shwarma!
I will start with the shwarma.  In my opinion, one of the most crucial elements of a tasty wrap, shwarma, rollup, what have you - is certainly the pita.  Bucharest just knocks it out of the park.  So starchy and soaked with delicious shwarma juices, the casing for this tasty treat definitely exceeded my standards.  The vegetables were all grilled and fresh.  The sandwich was absolutely packed with rice, fried potatoes, the juicy and delectable pieces of chicken breast along with the veggies, garlic and hummus.  Bucharest really knows how to pack a punch into a wrap. And the accompaniments were equally as satisfying...
I ordered way too many sides, which is just the way I like it.  The stuffed grape leaves, the hummus, garlic sauce and pita were each piled in small mountains when our server brought them to the table.
Grape Leaves
The grape leaves were stuffed with lamb and rice and served side-by-side with a generous portion of sour cream.  Nothing excites my taste buds more than a mouthful of diverse flavors and textures, both readily available at Bucharest.  A little hummus, some garlic sauce, sour cream a bit of chicken, some lamb, rice and grape leaves all swirling together in perfect harmony.

I really enjoyed the preparation of the meal at Bucharest.  Nothing flashy. Just some great food served quickly and hot off the grill.  The grape leaves were huge and filling and the sandwich was so well executed.  Bucharest is high on flavor and mouthfeel.  This place can blow your socks off and serve it all in paper trays.

Enjoying the food inside the Park Bar was a great element to the meal as well.  I ordered a couple of Michigan brews while I was waiting for my food.  A great way to pass the time.  The temperature of the beer was right on for me.  An expert might say it was a few degrees too cold, but on a hot day, the refreshing coolness outweighed the flavor anyway.

Bucharest and Park really are quite a pair.  It is not usual to see middle eastern food served in a bar setting almost diner style.  The whole experience was fun, relaxed and well, perfect.  I definitely recommend the Bucharest Grill, especially if there is a soft spot in your heart for some middle eastern delicacies.  The menu is robust and everything I tried was up to par.  Couple all of that with the fact that you can eat right at the bar and you have an awesome meal just waiting to happen!

Eat well everyone.
